CRACKING THE CODE
Full Description:
Cracking the Code is a new campaign of the Flower Mound Code Enforcement division, which aims to provide education for residents concerning Flower Mound’s Code of Ordinances. This edition will focus on signs in the public right of way.
Section 86 of the Town of Flower Mound Code of Ordinances prohibits unauthorized signs in public right of way. Signs in the right of way can impair visibility, cause litter, and can reduce the aesthetic appeal of the Town.
Signs placed in the right of way may be picked up and kept for seven days by the Code Enforcement division. There is a $50 administrative fee to claim each sign. Typical types of signs picked up include political, business, advertisement, yard sales or garage sales, open house, builder, and special event signs.
Signs such as garage sale, open house, and others may be placed legally on private property with permission. Please contact a Town of Flower Mound Property Standards Specialist at 972.874.6340 if you have any questions.
